Dover Winter Light Up 2024 Set to Shine Bright in Pencester Gardens

Get ready for a magical evening as the much-anticipated fourth annual Dover Winter Light Up returns on

Saturday, 7th December 2024

Families from Dover and the surrounding areas can look forward to a spectacular celebration, now located in Pencester Gardens. Organised by Future Foundry in partnership with Dover Town Council, this enchanting festival invites everyone to enjoy stunning light displays, free activities, and immersive entertainment.

At the heart of the event is the iconic light procession, where local artists and schoolchildren come together to showcase breathtaking large-scale lanterns inspired by Dover’s wildlife. Participants can also explore a winter-themed food village, marvel at glow-in-the-dark performances, and experience new digital art installations, promising a truly memorable day out for all ages.

As the festival continues to grow, local partners are ensuring a festive atmosphere with exciting surprises and creative community engagement. Last year, Sue Jones, the Mayor of Dover, remarked, “To lead the lantern parade of hundreds of proud, happy young people was the most incredible experience for me as Town Mayor. The drumming gave the event a tribal feel, the whole parade united as a community celebrating the darkest days with noise and light."
